Neuropsychologist, psychopedagogue, and specialist in English literacy as a second language.
But before all that... I was an English teacher who also felt lost.
I started teaching in bilingual preschool and elementary school, following the curriculum, the books, the "words of the week"... and still, I felt like something wasn't working. My students weren't progressing as I wanted, and I had no clarity on where to start or what to do differently.
"That frustration was my starting point"
Over time, I founded Minds to Shine, my psycho-pedagogical center in Guadalajara, where I helped children with learning difficulties. I diagnosed, intervened, and personalized plans to support bilingual children, many of whom faced real challenges in learning to read and write in English.
Then I moved to Vancouver, Canada—an officially bilingual country—and my passion continued to grow. I worked as a therapist at an educational center and later led the area as Senior Manager. There, I designed a complete literacy intervention program that has since transformed the learning experience of over 1,500 multilingual students.
What did I learn over all these years?
That teaching English as a second language doesn't have to be overwhelming.
But it does require strategy, sequence, and clear guidance.
And that's what I do today.
